Chicago or Bust!

Last week one of my favorite bands, Motion City Soundtrack, announced they'd be playing all three of their previously released albums in their entirety over the course of three nights in Chicago! I thought that was a pretty sweet idea but was a little bummed about their timing.
The shows are the weekend before Christmas...
Ugh! Do they have any idea how expensive and stressful it is to fly at that time of year? ;)

Initially I said I wasn't going, but by the next day I was buying the three day pass to the show and feeling a little insane. Now the next purchase is the airline tickets, and those are just as outrageous as I had thought they'd be. So, tomorrow morning (when airfare is said to be at it's cheapest) I will give it a go and buy my plane tickets.
I totally can't even afford to make this trip, but I haven't been 'home' in years and I love all the people that will be joining me at the MCS shows... so I'm going to make it freakin' work!

I will leave you with a vintage Motion City Soundtrack photo taken by me:

Portland Fashion Week

I was asked by Lauren of Describe the Ruckus to take photos of the first two nights of Portland Fashion Week.
I was a little nervous to do it since I've never been asked to do something like that before. Mostly I just take photos for my own personal enjoyment...
And even though I wasn't being paid to do this task... I wanted to do a good job.

I was pretty happy with how things turned out, and I think Lauren was too.

Here are the photos for everyones viewing pleasure.

Day 2

Focus!

Oh man. I wish I would have thought of this first. So completely rad!
They are pretty spendy.
Maybe I'll come across a broken lens or find a cheap one at Goodwill and make my own.

Sneakers.

These shoes are absolutely rad. But soooo expensive.
I'd really like a pair though.

Damn you Hello Kitty and your adorable wares!

i LOVE my city.

This tourist video is very well done.

I've been a walking zombie most of this week.
The past two weeks at work several people have been out of the office leaving those of us left behind to pick up the slack. Needless to say, I'm very happy we have a three day weekend. I could probably use a week off, but I'll take what I can get.
Last night I went out with some people from work and we spent several hours at the bar down the street from the office. It was great to decompress after the hard week I had.
This morning my friend Heather and I went to get manicures and pedicures at our favorite nail salon in Northwest Portland. Getting my nails done made me feel sooo much better. It's amazing what a little paint and massage can do for my mood.

A triumphant return?

OMG!
I was able to log back into my account after 2 years!
Yeeeeeeeeesssss!

Not sure how I'll use this blog just yet since I tweet and do a daily photo project that also acts as a journal of sorts. But stay tuned.
